About This Opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a true startup and help build a company. Our products have good fit in the marketplace but we need help creating a best in class design minded sales team that works collaboratively with both our business and consumer clients to drive sales growth.
As a founding member of our sales team you will have the opportunity to improve the execution of the existing sales process while expanding into new markets and outreach channels.
As part of a real startup this role requires you to strike the careful balance between digging in and relentlessly executing while also helping to level up procedures, playbooks and the role roadmap to scale with the company's growth.
Along the way you will get first hand experience with a cutting edge industry - 3d printing - and the opportunity to learn from a technical founder with significant online advertising experience who also played a key role in taking Uber Eats from 5 cities to a global food delivery giant.
Role Details
This role entails working collaboratively with clients to turn their inspirations and ideas into reality via the sign letter products we sell.
It has two main areas of work:
- Answering inbound client inquiries using precise, timely and empathetic communication to help them determine the right product and size to get the look they’re going for
- Selling via outbound communication (phone, email, social media) to potential new clients in the interior decor, retail design and construction industries
Success in this role is accomplished through precise listening and writing, persistent outbound communication and a keen eye for design that makes our clients’ ideas dazzle.
Applicants should be comfortable using design tools (ex. Canva, Adobe or similar) and written communication to express key considerations that go into a given design (ex. Measurements, readability, lighting).
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for a design-minded and entrepreneurial salesperson that can work collaboratively with clients to turn their ideas into reality via our products.
We are a small team so we need someone who is a self starter and motivated to achieve meaningful sales results.
Experience successfully selling over the phone to small and mid-sized businesses in the interior design, retail design, commercial construction and government industries will position you for success in this role.
This is a performance based role. You must be comfortable carrying a quota and hitting activity and revenue targets.
Job Tasks
- Responding to inbound client inquiries promptly & professionally
- Creating mock-ups of client proposals to provide visuals and measurements
- Creating and sending invoices
- Following up on unpaid invoices
- Calling potential clients
- Emailing existing clients to develop new business opportunities
Location, Hours & Compensation
Our office is located in Frederick, Maryland in the Ballenger Creek area (I-270 and I-70).
Mon-Fri, 9am - 5pm
We are a 100% in-person team with no opportunity for alternative working arrangements at this time.
On track earnings of $60,000 per year ($40,000 base salary and $20,000+ yearly commission paid monthly) with uncapped commission structure offering potential for significant additional earnings. Steady stream of inbound leads and thousands of existing customers.

We use advanced 3d printing technology to solve a wide range of problems for our clients that can't be solved using traditional plastic manufacturing processes. Our products are stronger, lighter and available in more colors and finishes than traditionally manufactured plastic products. Many are also biodegradable thanks to the use of plant based bio-plastics that can be composted in commercial facilities.
We sell our products exclusively online through multiple sales channels including our website. We sell directly to both consumers and professionals in the interior design, architecture and tradeshow fields.
Spot Industries was founded in Toronto, Canada in 2020 and recently moved into our first full scale production facility in Frederick, Maryland. We are a family business operated by an entrepreneurial founder with a background in building and scaling technology products. We have founded multiple successful businesses over the years and are actively scaling Spot Industries due to strong customer demand.
